Apple device owners should be happy with the speed in which the tech titan is fixing some issues with its products. When Apple iPhone 8 and Apple iPhone 8 Plus users heard static coming out of the earpiece during phone calls, Apple quickly pushed out iOS 11.0.2 to make calls sound great again. Besides the static problem with the latest released iPhone models, Apple also had some recent problems with the Apple Watch Series 3.
The first version of the Apple Watch to come with a built-in LTE radio, the Series 3 doesn't need to pair with a nearby iPhone in order to send/receive texts and connect to the internet. The stand alone smartwatch can also make/take phone calls all by itself. But two days before the launch of the timepiece, the Wall Street Journal published a statement from Apple that revealed that "when Apple Watch Series 3 joins unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks without connectivity, it may at times prevent the watch from using cellular."
Apple promised that a software update would be coming to fix the connectivity issue, which CEO Tim Cook called "minor" and rare. And on Wednesday, that update arrived with the roll out of watchOS 4.0.1. Apple didn't say what caused the connectivity problem; nor did Apple state whether the update completely cures all of the problems that users have been having. These issues include the inability to activate Siri in some cases, and problems keeping a cellular connection from cutting out. The connectivity bug also negatively affected the ability of the Apple Watch Series 3 to make phone calls over the networks belonging to certain carriers.
With watchOS 4.0.1 said to fix the Apple Watch Series 3's connectivity problems, those with the timepiece can now enjoy the product's stand alone capabilities.
